Challenges

Resilient Marinas approached us with a unique challenge: implement Accounts Payable (AP) functionality on its own, without rolling out the rest of the NetSuite ERP system immediately.

Solutions

To meet these goals, we designed a highly flexible NetSuite implementation plan tailored to Resilient Marinas’ phased rollout vision. Key components included:

  • Standalone AP deployment, with configuration for future scalability
  • Integration with Molo, a 3rd-party marina operations platform, to connect finance with front-line operations
  • A fully featured, scalable accounting system that could grow with the business
  • Migration off QuickBooks, ensuring a smooth transition to a more robust platform
  • Enablement of NetSuite’s Fixed Assets Management (FAM) module to streamline asset tracking and depreciation.

The implementation followed a hybrid SuiteSuccess methodology
We blended standard best practices with a strong customer-centric approach.

We started by identifying and prioritizing high-impact focus areas
Such as AP and integrations and then layered in broader SuiteSuccess components after the initial go-live. This iterative approach allowed us to remain flexible and responsive to Resilient Marinas’ evolving needs while staying on track and within the allocated 30 day timeframe.

Implementation Process

The Presales Process: The pre-sales process was well thought out and tailored to our specific needs. The Conexus team quickly saw that I had experience with the system and pivoted to showing some demos of specific modules or areas where I had concerns, to show me that 1) they knew the system very well and 2) my views on certain set-ups or functionalities may have been outdated. They were focused on what Resilient Marinas truly needed and approached the project pitch as a partnership, really making me feel like they understood how important this was for me and not just another potential sale.

The implementation phase: the implementation phase was so smooth! The hardest part on our end was getting our banking connection set up, and that issue was on our bank’s end. The Conexus project manager listened to each thing that was important to me and made sure to spend the appropriate time covering it. They shifted their project management approach to fit what I needed as a start up business, which really helped get the implementation done efficiently and successfully.

Post-implementation support and ongoing partnership: I’ve thrown quite a few curveballs at the Conexus team in the post-implementation phase (most notably a full integration with a marina management software) and they have been absolutely incredible with everything! They’ve also been my support team for our Ramp credit card & expense reimbursement platform, helping me troubleshoot issues where needed. When I send an email/message, they are quick to respond or set up a meeting to go over whatever it is I need. I feel like they’re an extension of my Resilient Marinas team, always there to look at the the business issue I’m facing and figure out a couple of ways we can handle in Netsuite that would be best for our organization.

How our solutions have facilitated your MOLO integration with NetSuite: I absolutely could not have gotten the Molo integration set up for Netsuite without the Conexus team. They took the project and just ran with it – learning all of the modules and setups needed within Netsuite, initiating a sandbox integration for testing, setting up our entire revenue recognition module, and continuing to troubleshoot issues as they come through now that the system is integrated. They are constantly looking for ways to make things better and more efficient with this integration as well, whether it’s developing custom reports for the Molo data or providing feedback to the Molo team on ways to send data easier/cleaner. Overall, I am so thankful I had the Conexus team on my side for this, because we really needed this Netsuite integration and there’s no way I could’ve gotten it done without them!
